Could hardly sleep the night before, only falling asleep at 5 in the morning. oh well, late for lecture, what else.

Another gang outing end of the month, let's hope I am still kicking after all the deadlines. till then.

The power play

Oh well, decided not to bring my windbreaker along, but it rains heavily in the afternoon. I swear I was freezing badly in the library and classroom.

Suppose to be an early day off today, but have to stay till the late afternoon for the interest group meeting. Personally I feel that the nomination and voting of office bearers weren't carry out properly. Firstly, the issue of sabotage, when group of friends tried to sabotage a common friend. Secondly, the overwhelming response of the BIT batch. I not sure whether are there for the reward or for the purpose of serving the cohort.

There was almost 40 odd members, including the freshman batch. I'm not sure why are they invited to attend since they are not allowed to hold position within the committee which was only opened to the junior batch.

Anyway, there was a mild power play between us guys, nomination among ourselves but we swear it wasn't a case of sabotage since we are quite keen to serve in the committee. Sharon and Bevan for the President/Vice President, Faith for Quartermaster, Han and friends for the ad-hoc committee and me, for secretary.

Those who did not make it for the President/Vice President office will be assigned to the rest of the main committee, which means, there will be competition for my post. :(

Finally got my Absolut Mandarin today. Sneaked off from class to collect it from my friend. Anyone care for a drink? :p

Enough of power play, time for serious work. later.

Some people ought to have a little respect for people of other religions. This friend of mine, who has always been a staunch believer that regard religions other than Christianity as satanic.

What he said about the National Kidney Foundation (NKF) charity drive really enrage me. I can't believe he said such a thing when there are needy people awaiting donation and help from the public, and there he is, thinking that it's necessary if those people have been a christian.

Sick mind of his, I shouldn't have pity him when he lost his cellphone.

Went marketing in the evening with mom before a ride down to East Coast to resupply my toiletries. Couldn't find my favourite brand of printing paper, oh well. The start of semester have my printer chucking out pages of notes and tutorials, which left me with a dangerous supply of paper.

Hitched a ride home in dad's car for dinner with mom.

Time to get my tutorial done, later.
Watched an interesting documentary film on Apple and Microsoft, Pirates of the Silicon Valley the night before. It's about their early life, the building of the 2 camps and later, the confrontation. Did you know Microsoft stole the GUI concept from Apple?

Oh well, I did Steve Jobs is cool. Hope Jesslyn isn't reading this, else she gonna associate me with Jonathan. Yucks.

Principles of Management going on quite well, finished the first half of the assignment but a little wordy, leaving me with only one and a half pages for my second half. Can't wait to start on it, the second part is so much more interesting than the first question.

Oh yes, thanks Alan for the encouragement, but I wasen't doing my assignment at that time. :)

The new iPod mini is sooo cool! It's available in Singapore now, but I'm holding back my moolah until I can think of 101 reasons to switch. Got to have a feel of it before it arrives in Singapore. It's my sister's green iPod mini. That impatient sister of mine got it from USA instead of waiting for it to be available in Singapore.

Did a comparison, the mini doesn't have the solid feel of the iPod and the wheel is kinda weird.

Going to complete some task, meanwhile, enjoy photo of the mini.

July 09, 2004

Rather surprise at myself, right in front of my desk, about to start on my Principles of Management assignment. Usually I will get started 2 days before the deadline, but hey, it's a week now. No last minute work, how's it? :)

Finally received news on my course interest group, but the real surprise is the increase of the initial batch of 10 or so members to 36 members. With only 16 positions open for nomination, this going to be a tough competition. Heh, they should have given priority to the initial batch.

This going to be a boring weekend, nothing planned, just rot at home.

July 08, 2004

Spent a rather hilarious moment with my group mates during hospitality and tourism class, I trying hard not to get too wild with them. When there the fun get excessive, no work is done usually.

Will need to spend some time in school to get my Principles of Management project done in school, aye, boring.
It always peak me up knowing that some lecturers do recognise you from the sea of faces. It's not exactly those teacher's pet mindset but more of a impression issue. It definitely strike a deep chord if you are one that misbehave, since it has been proven that the hypothesis of leaving a deep impression is greater through negative demeanor than a positively aligned demeanor.

Knowing that I am just an above average student who don't make small talk in lecture, just your down to earth student, I'm surprise some lecturers do recognise me. I was walking when this lecturer just waves at me with a smile. While waiting for my transport at the car park, another lecturer look at me and smile when she walk past me.

I'm not exactly an attention seeker, but it just bring a whole new meaning to the educator-student relationship.

I think I just fallen in love with the food over at the Design faculty. I think this the only place that fits in my image of a school canteen. I'm going to influence every single of my friends to have lunch over there next time. :)

Got this new jazz album, The Girl In The Other Room by Diana Krall. It has those "lazy sunday" melody, really make me feel like lying down on my couch and let the music cleanse my worries. Still have a early morning lecture tomorrow, oh well.

and it goes round and round and round...

ahhh, 3 deadlines next week, darn, it's only 3rd week and the stress level is peaking up. Both Principles of Management individual and group assignment and E-Business Management. Work work... *grumble*

Another round of compliment from the lecturer for today Managerial Accounting. Great work, BIT. We've made a name for ourselves in the Business faculty, oh well, I guess I will omit the BIT part when I introduce to others.

Had lunch with Han over at Design faculty, food is definitely better than Business side, except for the crowd.

Congratulations to Michelle over her sucessful transfer to her desired course. Her departure from BIT will surely leave a irreplaceable vaccum among the rest of us and BIT (Though I doubt noisy lectures will be one think she miss).

It's sad that we spent the last day together not knowing it's her last. She has been a great friend of mine and us, the whole lot of TB030. The depths of sorrow we cannot tell, of the loss of one we held so dear. You will be dearly missed and always remembered by TB030.

Back to my SQL crap, select * from life where life = bored

Some things never change

Time changes everything, but some people just don't change with the evolution of time. Oh well, I'll just be a little more patient, it's a virtue after all.

I just enjoy every single LAIT tutorials, touched on Law of Contract today, though it's on the introductory level, it's rather useful on knowing your rights as a consumer.

Had a game of badminton with the TB030 peeps. Woah, it's was a weekly affair during our year one and it practically stopped as we progress to our semseter two. Now with majority of us having a common timetable, it's going to be an exciting monday.

Going to be a busy week with my preparation for next week deadline. Off to get my tutorials done. Meanwhile, enjoy the photos. tata.

Taken on cellphone camera, pardon for the grainy quality.

July 04, 2004

Oh well, it's gonna be a monday again. It's a good thing that I end early tomorrow. I do hope there will be no group discussion after school, got to rush a few tasks.

Sister and my brother-in-law joined us for a sumptuous dinner. The other sister going back Philippines again this month, great isn't it?

Going back to my tutorial. yawn.

Friday night out

School was fine on friday. Almost got marked late for Managerial Accounting and the tutor was "so kind" enough to give me a chance. Oh yeah, that's what happened on my Business Accounting 2 last semester. Meanie Accounting tutors.

ORDB lecture was incredibly easy for today, I was paying full attention instead of dozing off. I guess I have adequate sleep the night before. Joined my friends later for a little bitching session. Yeah, stop pronouncing my name wrongly.

Joined the gang for the Spiderman Marathon but one of the guy couldn't turn up at the very last minute and Abel got it replaced with Nana. Damn it, I hate last minute changes.

Gosh, Abel have this punk hairstyle, both sides of his head is shaved except for the spikey middle. During the transition to the Spiderman 2, he lost his handphone. Couldn't really help since he only discover his loss after we get back in to the theater and it was switched off by the finder. It's hard for me to believe he was crying at the beginning of the show and laughing as if nothing have happened after the show. Quite a optimistic fella.

Woah, the first time I wear my cardigan out. It's bought a few years back by my sister and it has been inside for my wardrobe ever since. Can't really wear it out since I will practically ditch in drown in my perspiration. It was raining lightly on my way home, glad to have my cardigan along.

Spiderman 2 is another blockbuster worthy movie! Spiderman's villains always have a trick up their sleeve, pretending to be innocent whilst plotting their next move. Oh well, this goes the same to some people I know of.

Couldn't join Carol, Serena and "oh-no-I-forgotten-her-name" for the Chinatown outing in the afternoon. Was still sleeping soundly when Carol gave me a call. Sorry girls, anyway, Happy Belated Birthday, Serena. :)

July 02, 2004

2 hours of morning E-Business Management, it's the only lecture with attendance taken and it's early in the morning! Ranting aside, I'm glad I still have my Internet and Information System in Organization textbook with me, this 2 subjects are interrelated, with EDL and ethical issues.

Contract Law is pretty interesting, I swear it was, although I was wondering into dreamland at certain parts of the lecture.

Hospitality another interesting subject (Everything seem pretty interesting to me, yea?). Didn't manage to get into the same group with Jesslyn and Tian Nee, oh well, I'm lucky not to get into the same group as them. Their group consists of 4 girls, which one of them is the midst of a identity crisis. A girl exhibiting exaggeratedly masculine appearance. Girls who smoke are a total turn off.

I grouped with 2 guys from my cohort and a self-proclaimed slacker from Logistics Management. Smart isn't he? Proclaimed himself as a slacker and get away with most of the work.

Having test 2 weeks later, gonna pass this.
