Begone, you procrastinating devil.

I'm offically in a group for most of my subject, except for OB and OpenTech. Not bad for a loner in a class of strange faces. I will see how it goes, so till then.

I'm fed up with the notice board. I tried to do up the background, but it look so ugly with the patches of black sheet. Can someone just tell me where to get one or two freaking sheets to cover up the whole thing? I have 8 small sheets to cover the whole board and it look gross at the overlapping portion.

In the end, I just tear off the remaining sheets and went for lunch.

Christmas arrived early! Got a new Timberland T-shirt! Yeah, sister's power! Sister came over and passed me the T-shirt in the afternoon, simply love the design.

Another sister of mine bought me iPod socks, the coolest accessory for iPod ever. A set of knit socks that cover up your iPod, protecting it from the harsh environment. Gonna ditch my Oakley soft cover for this.

Gonna do my french homework now, au revoir.

The Masquerade

Attended my first Principles of Marketing tutorial. I'm not a marketing person, but I starting to love this subject becos of my adjunct tutor, Ms Maggie Goh. She's been in the airline industry for 25 years before switching to a career in teaching. She lives in Arizona, USA. Cool eh?

Because of her, I gonna get the marketing textbook. Not sure whether the one she recommanded is the same as the one recommended in the student kit, if it isn't, I will just get hers.

Headed to Tampines Mall for my 2 hours break. Love the food over there, the coffee shop just before S-11. Shopped over at the mall after lunch and, I BOUGHT FRANK SINATRA CD! I'm surprised such a small Music Junction actually stock up on his albums.

Sometimes, I'm ashamed to belong to the current BIT cohort. SAND lecture was a complete disaster, it's like a fresh market in the enclosure of the lecture hall. I pity the lecturers that have to stand against such nonsense. Ms. Rita was just mumbling away without even warning the students to keep quiet. I guess her colleagues over at School of IT must have warned her or something, this is a complete culture shock for any new lecturers.

OpenTech lecture was pretty interesting, PHP. Yeah, the stuff that creates tagboard. Eager to start on my OpenTech lab tomorrow.

Just to share with one of my encounter today. What will you do when a classmate of yours approaches you to join him and form a group? And from previous experience, you know he doesn't do his share of work and doesn't attend lectures?

A classmate of mine, ex-TB030 (No prize for correct guess), approached me to form a group with him together with another guy, which doesn't look very trustworthy to me. I looked at him, smiled and shake my head.

I know it's rude and very selfish of me (no one in the class wanted to form a group with the both of them), but when it come to studies, it's better to play the devil then lose out in the end.

Anyway, the class formed groups except for the both of them. Surprisingly, I was approached and not left on the shelf afterall. One guy compromised and formed a group with the two of them in the end. Good luck to him.

Gonna install the new graphics card which my brother-in-law sent over.

Au revoir.

Yet another quiz.

New quiz fom Peter's blog.

Wackiness: 10/100
Rationality: 58/100
Constructiveness: 66/100
Leadership: 50/100

You are a SRCF--Sober Rational Constructive Follower. This makes you a White House staffer.

You are a tremendous asset to any employer, cool under pressure, productive, and a great communicator. You feel the need to right wrongs, take up slack, mediate disputes and keep the peace. This comes from a secret fear that business can't go on without you--or worse, that it can.

If you have a weakness, it is your inability to say "no." While your peers respect you, they find it difficult to resist taking advantage of your positive attitude and eagerness to take on work. You depend on a good manager to keep you from sinking under the weight and burning out.

Of the 65910 people who have taken this quiz since tracking began (8/17/2004), 7.8 % are this type.

Christmas approaching in another week time. What I want for Christmas and birthday? Nothing I guess. Been quite satisfied with what I have now and the Christmas mood was dampened with the new semester in december. Maybe a meal with my parents or family.

Going to read thru my lecture notes and my french notes before hitting the bed.

Au revoir.

My way.

Find myself unknowingly, humming to the tune of this particular song. First heard it over at Cold Storage a few days back after school. Until now, did I realized that I have the mp3 in my computer.

It's My Way by Frank Sinatra. You might not know him if you are not into oldies, but he was one of the best singers during his time. I'm thinking of ordering his CD thru Amazon.com, but that will spoil my plan for a Christmas shopping spree, gonna be the first time I spend so much on a single piece of cloth.

Will pay a visit to HMV this coming week, might save a few dollars from the expensive shipping cost by ordering thru Amazon.com.

Here's the lyrics for My Way
And now, the end is near,
And so I face the final curtain.
My friends, I'll say it clear;
I'll state my case of which I'm certain.

I've lived a life that's full -
I've travelled each and every highway.
And more, much more than this,
I did it my way.

Regrets? I've had a few,
But then again, too few to mention.
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption.

I planned each charted course -
Each careful step along the byway,
And more, much more than this,
I did it my way.

Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew,
When I bit off more than I could chew,
But through it all, when there was doubt,
I ate it up and spit it out.
I faced it all and I stood tall
And did it my way.

I've loved, I've laughed and cried,
I've had my fill - my share of losing.
But now, as tears subside,
I find it all so amusing.

To think I did all that,
And may I say, not in a shy way -
Oh no. Oh no, not me.
I did it my way.

For what is a man? What has he got?
If not himself - Then he has naught.
To say the things he truly feels
And not the words of one who kneels.
The record shows I took the blows
And did it my way.

Yes, it was my way.

Depressed

I don't know why, but the feeling of depression started to seeps in the moment I entered the computer laboratory. I'm alone in front of the terminal with the air conditioner blasting cold air above me. Yes, I am able to work alone, but not when the subject requires group work.

My friends have already formed their own groups for the various subjects, yet me, I'm alone not taking any action. Is my prophecy coming true? Am I going to be the leftover, salvaged by those without a choice?

I am thinking whether should I message this girl who worked with me during one of the events and beg her to take me in as a group member. I'm desperate for a group.

Spent some quality time in the school library after Organisation Behaviour lecture. Couldn't find anything of my interest after 2 hours there.

Have Intention to take up Tennis: For Beginners, a short programme organised by school. Gonna check my schedule and hope it doesn't crash with any of my deadlines.

Might be going back school tomorrow to get the notice board done, still deciding. Maybe I will play squash alone after getting the notice board up.

Gonna watch Fawlty Towers, an old british comedy. Gotten it today from Wen Bin. Oh, there's Godfather too.

December 10, 2004

Bonjour.

Second french lesson today, all was well. The difficulty in learning a new language was simplified by Monsieur Gullotti.

Started revamping the BIT notice board after my french class. The most disgusting chore ever. We have a situation here, mayday! The notice board was, apparently, invaded by flies. I don't know whether is it their nest or crap, it's brown, mossy, soft, damp, oh whatever. The worse part, I GOT TO CLEAN IT.

I don't understand why the previous guy or gal has to use aluminium foil for decoration. There's enough aluminium to bake 10 turkeys for the Christmas! Look, the aluminium don't belong to the notice board, so throw the thought of having it as a decoration for notice board.

Not enough paper to cover up the notice board, so I guess I have to continue it some other day. But hey, even when it's plain with just black background, it beats having aluminium and some flies' excrement for decoration.

Fwah, enough of my ranting, I guess I'm too much of a cleanliness freak. Hell yeah.

Headed down to Heartland Mall to get more paper for the notice board. Met mom over there and headed for dinner after marketing. Bought this kid size cereal, that comes in a package of six. Breakfast anyone?

Been having some problem with my graphics card, artefacts appearing on my screen when I'm gaming. For the non-IT geek, artefacts are graphic rubbish that isn't suppose to appear during normal usage. Need to send it over to Canada via courier since I didn't get my graphics card in Singapore. Really touched by my brother-in-law offer to get me a new one while I send it over for repair.

Au revoir, having one full day tomorrow with National Youth Achievement meeting in the late evening. Gonna need the sleep tonight.

P.S. Having minor problem with my web server, pcitures might go missing, background sound disappearing. Please bear with it while I get the server up.

Salut!

Attended my first french class and it was great! My french teacher is an Italian, how cool can that be? Learned a few greetings trying to get the accent right now. I'm so looking forward to my next lesson.

Headed down to my family doctor after french. Been coughing ever since 2 weeks ago. The new syrup tastes aweful compared to the first one. yucks.

Been so tired after all the early morning lessons that I simply doze off the moment I lied on my bed. Was watching Seven before that and TV was on still the morning. oh dear, I hope the cathode-ray tube don't get burnt or something.

December 07, 2004

Loner in a new class.

Attended Open Technology and SAND lab in the morning. I don't know why are they teaching HTML again, but sure is boring. More of a typing lesson for me, follow what's on the paper and type. That guy in the same class with me again, bloody slacker. Given a chance I won't want to be in the same group with him, AGGRH.

I think I gonna be so dead in my new class. Absolutely no one I am on good term with. Even those from the interest group have their own clique to hang around with. To make thing worse, I hate ice breaking.

I guess I gonna be left on the shelf when it comes to group selection. I will be abandoned and be selected by those who have no choice but to pick me.

Saw this quiz from Sharon's blog, kinda interesting, here it goes:

You are OS X. You tend to be fashionable and clever despite being a bit transparent. Now that you've reached some stability you're expecting greater popularity.
Which OS are You?

French class tomorrow, at least I have the company of Wen Bin and Gareth.

First day of school

No Principles of Marketing tutorial for the first week, so left the afternoon lecture, System Analysis and Development (SAND) and Open Technology (OpenTech).

Was late for lecture today, like 5 min. Late for the first day, I hope it won't become a trend since I have 3 days of morning lesson. SAND was boring, very boring. No interest in this subject but will try to develop some feeling in it.

Open Technology was fun, or should I say, my cup of tea. Linux, MySQL and PHP, those are the programming stuff I like and best of all, I believe I have my sister to ask since she's good at those.

James' S700 is cool! A little bulky but hey, it has 1.3 megapixels camera! His is like a big brother to my K700i, with all the bells and whistles. Anyway, my casing seems a little flimsy and has the joystick scratched during an incident on a bus. Gonna have it change soon at the service centre.

That's all for today. Still coughing as bad as usual. Gonna tuck in early for my lab in the morning and maybe the cough will go away.

Not really keen to meet my new classmates. oh well.

December 06, 2004

New semester ahead. Watch out.

Been a long day today. Been having troubling thought over some matter. Sigh.

Had dinner with dad and sisters today. Japanese cuisine, oiishi!

So much that I want to type, but just when I'm right in front of my computer, my thoughts just disappeared.

A new semester ahead. Not sure how's it gonna be like with my new classmates and more IT subjects to juggle. Could save on any Principles of Marketing textbook since I have a couple of such books left by my sisters.

Gonna tuck in, 2 lectures starting in the late afternoon.

December 04, 2004

The last friday of the holiday.

Watched Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason today with Max, Ron and Ling. Absolutely hilarious, just like the first one, Bridget Jones' Diary. Go catch it!

Headed for dinner with them at Gluttons Square, just a short walk from Plaza Singapura. Bought some biscuit over at Mark and Spencer, Digestive and Chocolate & Chip. Gonna be my breakfast for next week, since I be starting classes late for the first week of the new semester.

Walked around Orchard Road before going home. I guess I won't be coming to Orchard Road that often with the start of the semester. Gonna concentrate on my studies and projects, sigh.

Gonna get a new cologne this month, almost depleted.

Going to listen to my Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason album, later.

Unos, dos, tres, catorce... Hola!

Have you guys saw the new iPod advertisement on TV? I think it's cool, yea! They came out with the new special edition U2 iPod in black and red, which is so much nicer than the white I'm holding.

Sorry TB030 fellas, couldn't join you guys for the class barbeque gathering today. Was very sick in the afternoon, coughing and a light headache going about my head.

Collected my photos from The Adelphi today. The quality is amazing for a digital printout. Heck, it's even expensive than film developing, almost doubled the price.

Dinner with dad later at Parkway Parade. Couldn't enjoy myself, had a headache throughout the trip. Should have bought my medicine along. oh well.

Nice song from U2 - Vertigo, go get it now!

Vertigo
Unos, dos, tres, catorce

Turn it up loud, captain!

Lights go down
It's dark
The jungle is your head
Can't rule your heart
I'm feeling so much stronger
Than I thought
Your eyes are wide
And though your soul
it can't be bought
your mind can wander

Hello, Hello
Hola! [Spanish for Hello]
I'm at a place called vertigo (¿Dónde está?)
It's everything I wish I didn't know
Except you give me something I can feel
Feel

The night is full of holes
Those bullets rip the sky
Of ink with gold
They twinkle as the boys play rock and roll
They know that they can't dance
At least they know

I can sell the beat
I'm askin' for the cheque
Girl with crimson nails
Has Jesus 'round the neck
Swinging to the music
Swinging to the music
Woooao

Hello, Hello
Hola!
I'm at a place called Vertigo (¿Dónde está?)
It's everything I wish I didn't know
But you give me something I can feel
Feel

All this, all this can be yours
All of this, all of this can be yours
All this, all of this can be yours
Just give me what I want
And no one gets hurt

Hello, Hello
Hola!
I'm at a place called Vertigo
Lights go down and all I know
Is that you give me something I can feel
You're teaching me ...aaahhh
Your love is teaching me ...aaaah
How to kneel
Kneel

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah...
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah!
